Lon Simmons San Francisco Giants announcer bobble head who talks into his old school microphone. New batteries to guarantee years of use. This is in mint condition. It looks and sounds great. Turn the ball and you get a VERY COOL broadcast bit. From his Coopertown tribute- When the Giants moved from New York to San Francisco in 1958, the only broadcaster who came along with the team was Russ Hodges. Simmons was quickly hired to team with Hodges a partnership that lasted until 1971 when Hodges dies and then 1973 when Simmons retired following the death of his first wife. He came back to the Giants in 1996 retiring again after the 2002 season.
Simmons was beloved by Giants fans and 49ers fans for some famous moments, such as his thrilling coverage of a Steve Young 49 yard touchdown run and the earthquake interrupted 1989 World Series.
